Fall Equinox Ayurvedic Cooking Class

Ayurveda, a natural system of medicine, originated in India more than 5,000 years ago. The term Ayurveda is derived from the Sanskrit words ayur (life) and veda (science or knowledge). Thus, Ayurveda translates to knowledge of life. Based on the idea that disease is due to an imbalance or stress in a person's consciousness, Ayurveda encourages certain lifestyle interventions and natural therapies to regain a balance between the body, mind, spirit, and the environment.

In this culinary class, you will learn how to harness the power of nature by incorporating seasonal ingredients into your diet by using food as your medicine. The equinox marks a powerful time of transition and by integrating the fruits and vegetables of the fall harvest, you will remain calm and rooted through the change of seasons.

During our virtual culinary class, we will learn how to make the following dishes:

  • Almond Date Shake

  • Fennel and Pear Salad with Creamy Tahini Dressing

  • Grounding Beet Kitchari

  • Spiced Sweet Potato Bread with Delicata Squash Butter

Your ticket gains you access to the live class and recording for 60 days, written guides on where to source the best seasonal ingredients and how to set up your Ayurvedic kitchen.
